Officer Is Injured While Escorting ESPN's Jim Rome

PORT EVERGLADES (CBS4) ― A motorcycle police officer escorting ESPN's Jim Rome was slightly injured in an accident near Port Everglades Tuesday afternoon.

According to BSO, the Miami Beach Police officer from was traveling on SE 24 Street and Eisenhower Blvd. escorting the ESPN commentator just after 3pm. He apparently lost control of his motorcycle, suffering a minor leg injury.

The officer was treated on the scene, but was not taken to the hospital.

Jim Rome was not injured.
